Why homeowners keep our number

Most electrical problems are a symptom of something upstream.

A breaker that trips every evening is not a bad breaker. Lights that dim when the furnace starts are not bad bulbs. Swapping the visible part is fast, cheap and usually wrong — which is why the problem comes back and you call somebody again in six weeks.

We diagnose to the actual cause. That takes longer on the first visit and it is the reason there rarely is a second one. You get the finding in plain English, a fixed price before any work starts, and a warranty that makes the callback our problem instead of yours.

How it works

Four steps, no surprises

You call or write

Describe the symptom. We tell you on the phone whether it is an emergency and what the visit will cost before we dispatch anyone.

We diagnose

A licensed electrician finds the root cause, not the nearest replaceable part, and explains it in language that is not code jargon.

You get a fixed price

Written, itemised, and agreed before any work begins. If we find something else behind the wall, you approve it before we touch it.

We warranty it

Three to five years of workmanship coverage printed on your invoice, plus registered manufacturer coverage on the equipment.

Backed in writing
3-Year Workmanship Warranty Printed on your invoice • transfers when you sell

Every hour of labor we bill is covered for three full years. If our workmanship fails, we come back and make it right at no charge — no trip fee, no diagnostic fee, no argument.

Read the full warranty

  • Written, not verbal. Your warranty terms are printed on the invoice you sign, with the covered scope and the expiration date on it. Nothing about your coverage depends on remembering a conversation.
  • Transferable when you sell. Remaining workmanship coverage transfers to the next owner at no cost. Call us with the closing date and we reissue the certificate in their name — a genuinely useful thing to hand a buyer's inspector.
  • Parts carry the manufacturer's term. Panels, breakers, fixtures, EV chargers and generators are covered by their manufacturer, typically 1–10 years depending on the product. We register the equipment in your name at install and handle the claim if one is ever needed.
  • No fine print on the callback. A warranty visit means no trip charge, no diagnostic fee and no minimum. If we caused it, fixing it is on us.
Questions

Common questions

How far does Monicken Electric travel?

We serve everything within 60 miles of Eau Claire — 50 communities across 13 counties, from Cumberland in the north to Black River Falls in the southeast and River Falls in the west. There is a page for every town on our service area map.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. All work is performed by Wisconsin-licensed electricians, we are bonded and insured, and we pull permits in every jurisdiction that requires one. We will send a certificate of insurance the same day you ask for one.

What warranty do you offer?

Three years of workmanship coverage on standard work, five years on panels, service changes and whole-home systems, and one year on diagnostic repairs. It is printed on your invoice and it transfers to the next owner if you sell.

Do you charge for estimates?

Quotes on planned work — panel upgrades, EV chargers, generators, rewiring, lighting — are free. Diagnostic visits, where the job is finding out what is wrong, carry a flat fee that we tell you up front and credit toward the repair.

Do you answer after hours?

Yes. Burning smells, sparking, a hot panel, or a loss of power that takes your heat in winter are emergencies. Call 715-684-2609 and say it is urgent — those calls jump the queue.
