Exterior lighting has to do two unrelated jobs: make the property look good and make it safe to walk across in February at 5pm. It also has to survive freeze-thaw cycles, road salt and standing water. We use exterior-rated fixtures, in-use weatherproof covers and correctly buried circuits — because the cheap version of this job fails in its second winter.

What this service covers

  • Landscape and path lighting, low-voltage and line-voltage
  • Motion-activated and dusk-to-dawn security lighting
  • Flood and wall-pack lighting for driveways, yards and outbuildings
  • Soffit, eave and architectural accent lighting
  • Deck, patio, pergola and outdoor kitchen circuits
  • Post and pole light installation and repair, including buried feeder faults
  • Weatherproof GFCI exterior receptacles with in-use covers
  • Permanent holiday lighting circuits and dedicated exterior outlets on a switch

Your warranty on this work

Outdoor & Landscape Lighting carries our 3-year workmanship warranty. Every hour of labor we bill is covered for three full years. If our workmanship fails, we come back and make it right at no charge — no trip fee, no diagnostic fee, no argument. Parts and equipment carry their manufacturer's term on top of that, and we register the product in your name at install so a future claim is not your paperwork problem.

Read the full warranty

  • Written, not verbal. Your warranty terms are printed on the invoice you sign, with the covered scope and the expiration date on it. Nothing about your coverage depends on remembering a conversation.
  • Transferable when you sell. Remaining workmanship coverage transfers to the next owner at no cost. Call us with the closing date and we reissue the certificate in their name — a genuinely useful thing to hand a buyer's inspector.
  • Parts carry the manufacturer's term. Panels, breakers, fixtures, EV chargers and generators are covered by their manufacturer, typically 1–10 years depending on the product. We register the equipment in your name at install and handle the claim if one is ever needed.
  • No fine print on the callback. A warranty visit means no trip charge, no diagnostic fee and no minimum. If we caused it, fixing it is on us.
Questions

Outdoor Lighting — questions we get asked

Will my outdoor outlets survive winter?

They will if they are the right ones. Code requires GFCI protection and a weather-resistant receptacle with an in-use bubble cover on exterior circuits. That combination is what keeps water out while something is plugged in, and it is what we install as standard.

How deep does buried wire have to go?

It depends on the wiring method and whether it is protected by conduit — direct-burial cable goes deeper than conduit-protected runs. We bury to code depth for the method we use, which is deeper than most of the failed DIY runs we get called out to repair.

Can you fix a yard light that stopped working?

Yes, and that is a common call. Usually it is a failed photocell, a corroded splice at the base, or a rodent-damaged buried feeder. We locate the fault rather than guessing at it.
