Most electrical problems are a symptom of something upstream. A breaker that trips every evening, a light that flickers when the furnace kicks on, an outlet that stopped working and took half the room with it — these all have a root cause, and swapping the visible part rarely touches it. We diagnose to the cause, quote the repair before we start, and fix it once.
What this service covers
- Tripping and buzzing breakers traced to the actual overload, short or ground fault
- Dead outlets, dead circuits and half-dead rooms
- Flickering, dimming and lights that brighten when an appliance shuts off
- Burning smells, scorched receptacles and hot faceplates — treat these as urgent
- Failed GFCI and AFCI devices, and nuisance trips that are not actually nuisance
- Loose neutrals, backstabbed connections and failing aluminum-branch terminations
- Open junction boxes, unsupported cable and other buried code violations
- Storm damage to service masts, weatherheads and meter sockets
You probably need this if…
- • A breaker that will not stay reset
- • Warm or discolored outlets and switch plates
- • Lights that flicker on a schedule or when a large appliance runs
- • A faint buzzing or crackling anywhere in the panel
- • Mild shocks from appliances or faucets
Any of these is worth a phone call. Call 715-684-2609 and we will tell you honestly whether it is urgent.
Your warranty on this work
Electrical Repairs & Troubleshooting carries our 1-year repair warranty. Diagnostic and repair work is guaranteed for one year. Where we do this work
We handle electrical repairs across all 50 communities inside our 60-mile radius — Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, Menomonie, Rice Lake, Black River Falls, River Falls and everywhere between.
Diagnostic and repair work is guaranteed for one year. If the same fault comes back within twelve months, the return visit and the re-repair are free.
- Written, not verbal. Your warranty terms are printed on the invoice you sign, with the covered scope and the expiration date on it. Nothing about your coverage depends on remembering a conversation.
- Transferable when you sell. Remaining workmanship coverage transfers to the next owner at no cost. Call us with the closing date and we reissue the certificate in their name — a genuinely useful thing to hand a buyer's inspector.
- Parts carry the manufacturer's term. Panels, breakers, fixtures, EV chargers and generators are covered by their manufacturer, typically 1–10 years depending on the product. We register the equipment in your name at install and handle the claim if one is ever needed.
- No fine print on the callback. A warranty visit means no trip charge, no diagnostic fee and no minimum. If we caused it, fixing it is on us.
Electrical Repairs — questions we get asked
How much does an electrical diagnostic cost?
We quote a flat diagnostic fee up front over the phone, and it is credited toward the repair if you have us do the work. You will never get an hourly meter running with no ceiling on it.
Can you fix it the same day you diagnose it?
Usually, yes. Our trucks carry common panel components, devices and wire, so the majority of repairs are finished on the first visit. If a part has to be ordered we tell you the day it arrives before we leave.
What counts as an electrical emergency?
Burning smells, smoke, sparking, a hot panel, exposed conductors, or any loss of power that leaves you without heat in winter. Call 715-684-2609 and say it is an emergency — those calls jump the queue.
